The Magic of Olive Oil

It doesn’t hurt to think outside the box when it comes to your skin care routine. Down the far corner for skin care enthusiasts, the cooking aisle, we’re going to use one of the popular gourmet favorites, the olive oil.
This pantry staple can also be your beauty staple as well. It is a powerhouse of vitamins and minerals that nourishes your skin and keeps it younger for longer. Explore its benefits of olive oil and add these easy steps into your usual beauty regimen.
• Use as eye cream.
Olive oil contains vitamin E proven to be successful in fighting free radicals and photo aging. So maintain a youthful, wrinkle-free skin by applying a thin layer of olive oil under your under eyes. This will be gentle enough not to damage the thin skin there but potent enough to nourish the skin around it.

Here’s what you need to do:
1. Take a cotton ball and soak it with olive oil.
2. Dab it into your eye area and hold for 30 seconds under each eye.
3. Leave it there for your skin to fully absorb all its benefits.

• Use as shaving cream.
Shaving often causes rashes, bumps, and even nicks. But you can minimize this with olive oil. This natural lubricant will moisturize your skin enough for the blade to glide on easily. It will also leave your skin smooth and supple.

Here’s what you need to do.
1. Douse the area with olive oil.
2. Run your razor over the area.
3. Finish off by applying another thin layer of the same oil. This works well as an after shave lotion as well.

• Remove makeup
Most store bought makeup removers contain harsh chemicals that are drying to your skin. Olive oil, on the other hand, is gentle and as effective as these products. With its properties, it easily dissolves makeup and accumulated grime so it easily slides off when you wipe it with cotton pads.

Here’s what you need to do:
1. Massage olive oil into your face in gentle, circular motions. Let it stay for a couple of seconds.
2. With a cotton pad, start gently wiping off the oil and makeup from your face.
3. Follow this up by rinsing with warm water and a gentle cleanser.
4. Finish with a splash of cold water to stimulate blood circulation.

Fascinating, right? It’s use for cooking your favorite meals and you can use it for your skin too!
